Overall Impressions Pros and Cons of the Tac Pack 2.0 Limited Edition

The OPMOD Tac Pack 2.0 is a great value for the price.  At $36.99 (+10% off for using the coupon code above) you really can’t beat it.  It is plenty tough enough to be utilized as an EDC backpack (I have been doing so for about 2 months) or is a good fit for an Urban Survival Kit, a Vehicle Survival Kit or a Get Home Bag.  Possibly even a Bug Out Bag if you were intending on moving light and fast. I would estimate that this pack can easily handle 25-30 pound loads on a regular basis.  For more info on a Get Home Bag and what to put in it check out this post.  On my OPMOD Tac pack 2.0 I removed the waist strap and chest straps as I don’t carry enough weight (10-15 lbs) in it on a daily basis to need them, but they were plenty functional.  The plastic buckles and hardware seem to hold up fine and have given me no problems at all. The nylon feels like about 600-800 Denier nylon, though with the waterproof PVC backing it is slightly stiffer than many nylon gear products on the market.  It fits a full size man fine, but is also not too big for a petite woman or a teenager either.  My favorite thing about this pack is the price and overall versatility.  My least favorite thing is that the back area doesn’t have any padding or raised texture / ventilation so it can get hot on your back if worn for long periods.  So how does this pack stand up to competitors like Maxpedition and Blackhawk or 5.11 Tactical?  Very well.  It isn’t neck and neck but it also isn’t far behind at all.  Then when you consider that it costs about a third or more of the other packs you can really see the value in adding these packs to your gear.  I am confident that the packs I have reviewed will be in use for several years to come!  Considering price, overall versatility and quality I give this pack an 8 out of 10 stars.

  1. I liked your review of the opmod tac pack 2.0. I found it useful and will probably get one because of it. I need a durable bag that can carry a change of clothes and some books and note books. Maybe an occasional pair of sneakers.
