How Build A Three Minute Shelter
When I taught at the USAF Survival School we had a saying “Don’t stand if you can sit. Don’t sit if you can lay down, Don’t be awake if you can sleep”. Basically the idea of that saying is to conserve your energy if it is possible to do so. In real life emergencies you may need a shelter and need it fast. So this post shows you a very quick and expedient way to build a good shelter in about three minutes. In real harsh environments, you will want to be able to pull out your poncho or other shelter material, grab a couple of pieces of line, a couple of stakes and throw up a shelter in just a couple of minutes. I believe the video below shows how to build one of the quickest, easiest and most effective one person shelters that can be built. It uses a minimum of resources, energy and keeps you dry.
